Caught PB brownie while targeting perch

Caught this lovely PB brownie yesterday down the river did have another small one but didn't have a picture. Yes I know it's out of season catch and release they were fine I was targeting perch. How do I stop the fish from deep hooking itself I can unhook them with a disggorger but once a brown trout about 3 months and swallowed it so I had to cut the line 😔. It swam off but didn't look good. The bites aren't very clearer neater can't distinguish it from the river dragging my bait

Caught this bigish trout down the river bigger than average so is the Perch was supprized to catch that perch in the rapids the trout was a bit further down in a slightly slower flowing part. Tight lines
