Daughter Mei-Lien caught a small Barred Grunt in the breaking surf from the Punta Santiago Pier this morning. Had a conversation last week about "Landed" or "Caught" fish only being fish that actually made it onto land/pier/or boat, and that fish that flip off the line before they touch land/boat/pier do not count as caught fish. She made damn sure today to get the fish out of the water and over the pier before it wiggled off the hook (which it did) !!! 🤣

Caught a Ladyfish this morning. She sure didn't act like a lady. She was PISSED her free meal wasn't actually free ! While I normally give my fish a kiss before tossing them back, she made it perfectly clear she hated me and kissing was off the table...

Caught a nice fighting Barred Grunt (aka Yellow Croaker) on the Punta Santiago Pier this morning. Little fellow hit hard. Circle hook with salted chicken on Hi/Low rig, outgoing tide.
