Newell Lake

Caught a few decent ones from shore including a 24” walleye and a solid white bass. The dark blotches below the lateral line made me wonder if it could be a saugeye (the fish Ai also thought saugeye). But the fins look walleye, especially the dorsal without strong spots so I’m pretty sure it’s a walleye. Thoughts Fishing with Lance Fish Hawkeye ? Also I wish I’d measured the white bass instead, as it may be close to the 17” master angler mark.

Caught this one during daughter’s horse lesson. Fins were a little worse for the wear! Made me wonder if it was doing battle with something bigger! In the current near an inlet, current was strong so I put on a heavy spoon to get it down near the rocky bottom.
