Russell Creek Park Pond

True story... while somewhat dinky, i nonetheless caught this on my first cast into the water right after listening to this bitter old head rant about fishing in Texas. Not only did he directly critique my rig as well as other popular styles, he boasted about using the superior bait (worms) but in the same breath complained that he couldnt catch anything. He blamed his lack of catch simultaneously on anglers overuse of chatter and crank baits, as well as how Texas itself manages parks and ponds. I caught a PB last night, and popped this puppy out right in front of the dude, on a Money Badger crank bait. So... I dunno. He was a drag. His wife looked at the ground and said nothing though his entire rant. Weird. I think I met a Karen today.. only it was a dude. He wasnt hassling me... he was just... venting about Texas ponds... which he kept calling lakes... so I dunno wtf his deal was haha. As a lifelong texan... its weird to meet someone who auto assumes you aren't a native and get comfortable talkin sh1t and giving advice. I catch nearly every time I go out. The ponds are fine.

The Crickhopper is a dink crusher today! This guy had a really nice copper/gold top section and not much of the black stripes on the side.

My first bluegill! I didnt have him out long but he acted shocked when he was back in the water. I had to wiggle him around but then he darted off. Little dude wasn't ready for the big time.

Fished for less than 5 minutes and already pulled this little dink up!
