Very clear and healthy water., when the conditions are right you even faintly see the bottom wich resides at 2m depth at this point. Length 14.6km. Width 14 meters. Depth up to 3 meters deep. Banks naturally and reinforced in many places. The Lovaart forms a connection between the Yser, from the Fintele-sas and the Dunkirk-Nieuwpoort Canal at Veurne. The canal is mainly fed by water from the Yser. The water quality of the canal is therefore largely determined by the quality of the Yser upstream Fintele. Fish species Mainly small roach - bream/blei - and also a lot of bass. Also eel and pike and zander. Yet this water can bring beautiful surprises, there are really nice catches..
