Still Ice

Wanted to do some backcountry brook trout fishing today. Took a hike 700 ft up to Giant's Washbowl only to find out 95% of the lake was covered with ice. I then hiked back down and across the road to Chapel Pond. This was better, as the inflowing creek had melted away some ice over deeper water. I fished the creek mouth for a couple of hours with no luck. Hoping the ice is melted on the VT brookie ponds for opening day next weekend.
