I knew it was only a matter of time before I hooked an absolute monster from Okanagan Lake. I also managed to catch a new species for me: the white sucker. People say northern pikeminnows don't fight very well, but I disagree! Maybe it was just the size of the one I caught, but it put up a great fight. If you want to make the fight last even longer, try loosening your drag a bit.

Some cute little FV strain stockers from an urban pond. This pond turns disabled/youth only regulated at the end of the month so we took advantage of the opportunity. Started off the day looking for Bass but switched gears after a morning of no hits. Felt good to get some fish on the fly again. This might be the smallest stocked pond I’ve ever fished and it hasn’t been stocked this year, meaning these fish are holdover from last year, and look fairly healthy.
