Hooked with Saj At Bass Lake
A year ago, I searched the Thames for smallmouth and came up empty. This year, I came prepared. The night before, I texas-rigged the Stealth Craw, hoping it’d be the difference-maker. Turns out, it was! At first light, we launched the kayaks, found rocky bottom, and it didn’t take long before the line tightened. Three footballs later, including one that bent the rod halfway, pulled the kayak around, and launched skyward before crashing back into the lake, I finally slipped my first smallie into the net. My first bronzeback is officially off the list—and definitely not my last. 🎣 Between the crew, we fished five smallmouth and a few slab pumpkinseed. It was a great time with Danny Liu and Feng Li

Kayak group outing on Saturday. Saj showed off how to finesse the big bois off the bottom while I had to rely on technology to catch any good fish. Never new this lake had such monstrous pumpkinseeds. One tried to smack my new balsa minnow while trolling.

Wonder what happened to the back of this pumpkin seed

Got humbled by Simcoe today. Thought I'd have a chance at some lakers today with the trolling motor and live sonar, but guess not. I'm pretty sure they're a hoax cause I didn't even see 1. I tried all the drop offs I could get to, nearly pushed my battery to it's limits again, and the only things I could find were perch, bait and 1 pike that just nipped the tail of a jig. Should have just gone to a different spot to test out a new glide bait I made.

First bass on bass opener, not the biggest fish but it's a beautiful fish.
