Common dace caught while ice fishing in lake simcoe

Managed about 30 of these guys in the 6-8 inch range. I could see much larger ones but they refused to commit. That may be why they’re larger. I was very pleased that they took my custom blade bait and Viking series rattler fly. 100 yards on 18 inches over 10 feet. Ice 4

First whitey this year

Managed to catch 5 of these guys in the 8 inch range with worms and minnows. About 100 yards out on 6 inches of black ice over 10 feet. No visible contact with any skunk which is fine. I did notice a new subdivision of luxury ice homes. Ice 2

Certainly not jumbos but I can’t say I’ve done this until today

Quite a cold and windy day. Gave up early after there were white caps all over the lake and had enough of getting splashed. Had a lucky smallie pretty early on with the Ned, but not even a shadow through the rest of the trip.

Superrr happy with this perch, maybe a jumbo but let’s just count it as an above average for now 👍👍
