Recent Catches At Bass Lake
Hooked with Saj
A year ago, I searched the Thames for smallmouth and came up empty. This year, I came prepared. The night before, I texas-rigged the Stealth Craw, hoping it’d be the difference-maker. Turns out, it was! At first light, we launched the kayaks, found rocky bottom, and it didn’t take long before the line tightened. Three footballs later, including one that bent the rod halfway, pulled the kayak around, and launched skyward before crashing back into the lake, I finally slipped my first smallie into the net. My first bronzeback is officially off the list—and definitely not my last. 🎣 Between the crew, we fished five smallmouth and a few slab pumpkinseed. It was a great time with Danny Liu and Feng Li

Kayak group outing on Saturday. Saj showed off how to finesse the big bois off the bottom while I had to rely on technology to catch any good fish. Never new this lake had such monstrous pumpkinseeds. One tried to smack my new balsa minnow while trolling.

Hit Bass lake with Feng Li on sat. We tied out kayaks together which worked surprisingly well. The motor handled it with 0 issues. We learned swimbait jig was the trick today no thanks to me. I only managed to catch 1 after I switched rigs. ~3lbs

My motor didn't work. Thanks Danny Danny Liu to connect my kayak to his. It was nice to use Garmin 106sv to scan the bottom of lake and find a good spot.

Stick for a rod.

I can tell this lake is healthy, and has lots of bass ...but I'm not good enough to catch them lol I didn't really know what to do with all the wind pushing me toward the bank, so i just decided to keep near the bank. Sure enough, a small guy hit my paddle tail. Had a bigger one follow a crankbait to the boat, but only managed to fool a big sunfish. His belly was so bright orange I thought I had a goldfish on at first.
