You just have to wait but there are some pike and perchs here

Started off yesterday trying to catch a shad. I was fishing below the run planning to walk up it when two kids came along and ran ahead to the spot I was gonna fish. I caught that rock bass when I was working my way up. I ended up walking across the river to fish the other side and broke off on one before I landed the first guy on a pheasant tail. Decided to hit the run later in the day when the kids were gone, and got the nice brown in the evening drifting a salmon streamer since I didn't have many wet flies. I also hooked a much bigger shad, and played it for about 3 minutes only for it to spit the hook at my feet whrn I was gonna net it. Didn't do anything wrong, just decided to spit the hook. Missed a few more strikes, but I was still able to land the one shad on the fly. Don't think I'm doing any fishing today. We're heading home and I need to find thst leak in my waders

Only managed to land one 14 inch brown today. Started off, I found some sea lamprey in the river. They were about the size of my arm. I did go to the pond in the middle of the day and caught a bunch of pumpkinseeds. Then, I walked up river and found a nice run. Only landed this one brown, but I lost some fish and missed even more. I broke off on 2 huge shad, probably 20+ inches. They were screaming drag and I couldn't land them with the 5x tippet. Hopefully tomorrow I can land one on some 4x

Caught 3 and lost 1 today. Only fished for 3 hours and towards the end, I didn't bother putting on tippet to my leader and changing out my mangled fly, so I think I did pretty good. The biggest one was probably 15. They were jumping for some sort of emerger, probably sulphers. Caught them all on a frenchie. Got 3 more days full of fishing, so hopefully there will be more fish to come
