Ryan Jones At Lamoille River
After many failed outings since the florida trip, including a very expensive failed musky trip where multiple musky lures were lost, I finally got on some fish. With a high of 60°, I knew I had to miss my afternoon classes. Tried going to the Seymour River at first, but there were posted signs along the pulloff, so I made my way to the Brewster River. The day started off slow, kot getting any action until I reached the two largest holes of the day. Ended up landing 3 bows and 2 browns, along with loosing my biggest bow of the day (only 10") at the net. Most of the fish took a copper headed zebra midge with some peacock UV ice dub as a collar. I believe one fish took the quill perdigon that was on top as well. There were little black stoneflies still hatching everywhere. Its supposed to rain all week, but hopefully I can get out Saturday in NJ. I am bringing my kayak back up with me, so I will have unlocked a lot more spots to fish on Champlain, right when the smallmouth bite should be heating up.

Caught the most colored up brook trout I've ever caught today. Caught around 20 fish total, including a 12 incher, the beautiful 10 inch male, and a 14 incher to end off the day, right after my phone died. They were a lot of fun on the 3 weight. Started off casting a brown caddis, but I switched over to a stimulater and one of the 16 p-tails I tied on friday which absolutely slayed these fish. This lake is 100% stocked fish, and they do this by taking fish up the Smugglers Notch chair lift. Some of these fish were really deformed, with gills hanging out and messed up jaws. The last fish went for my stimulator 4 times before taking the p-tail. I was wondering how he kept missing it, but I don't think he could open his mouth wide enough. Beautiful fall day with some snow on the ground, and an awsome pond that I will definitely be back to.

Water is really high around here so went and did some “urban fishing” out of a weirdest little pond Ive ever fished. Loaded with nice trout! Really nice break from the currants. Lost a cpl real bruisers!
