It was a cold brisk morning (-5°C)with crazy SW winds (30-40km) developing later in the afternoon. Almost gave up but I managed to get a decent chromer in the start of the major. Sometimes you never know with these fish.🤔🫡 🥷🎣

Broke some ice sheets and pushed them down creek in hopes to clear a spot I know they like to hold. Caught this little guy under some of it on light blue tied roe. Headed upstream and drifted along the ice sheets with the bait swinging along the edge / under, got 3 more good bites but lost em. Once you've dialed in staying warm, this is pretty great!

Conditions were tough this morning. -1°C, 30km SW winds, snow/sleet/rain and my fingertips were frozen. No one in sight. First cast at the spot I hooked a big1, took a big run with a few head shakes and it came off. 🥹 nothing after that. Switched spots and I got a nice bow on the second cast and it put up a good fight😃 After a few miss hits my indicator got burried. This fish had some good weight, it took a few runs with barrell head shakes and it felt different. Long and behold the unicorn of lake ontario tributaries..😍 this one is my second to date but its an exception because it was beat up and spawned out. Its also rare in this creek.. This is why i love fly fishing in brutall conditions!🫡🎣🥷🌨

Can't say I've ever fished creeks this late in the year, but I've caught the bug.. which certainly helps with the winter blues.
