Cache la Poudre River

After kayak fishing Barnes Meadow earlier in the day, I made some casts in the Cache la Poudre since it was more protected from the wind. I managed to catch a couple of trout on my spinning rod before the long drive home.

I carried my rod while hiking this morning along the Big South Fork of the Poudre River. I only fished a short time and caught one brook trout and lost another. Most of the river is rushing pretty fast, but there are some pockets of calmer water here and there.
