Handy Reservoir

A surprise 22.75” rainbow trout out of an irrigation canal! I’d only caught bass there before, so I was planning to swing it up and lip it. But when I saw it was a big trout I scrambled down and managed to net it with some difficulty.

Picked up a 24 inch walleye and a nice white bass during daughter’s horse lesson. 🙌🏽🙏🏽

They’re moving into deeper water as the lake is starting to freeze. The spoon isn’t my lure of choice this time of year - it requires too fast of a retrieve - but it was the only thing I had with me that could reach them, and this healthy little guy was game for it.
