Early morning crappie

Only one bite this afternoon, but it was a good one.

Another cutie off my dock. I love just hangin’ out in the shade, soakin’ a shiner until some badass bass slurps it up. Good fun. Tight lines, everyone.

Haven’t weighed & measured it yet, but I placed it into a live cage to do that tomorrow morning. Looks to be at least five pounds.

Crushed a topwater frog tossed in a small patch of lily pads just before sunset.

Lucky Seventeen! Not seventeen pounds, but caught on March 17th (St Patricks Day), weighed 8.17 lbs on my digital scale, and had a girth of 17 inches. Pretty lucky St Patty’s Day catch for me. After fishing unsuccessfully a couple hours, I was just about to change my shiner at 4:00p when this baby attacked it. It was a fight through lily pads and around my canoe a couple times. When I released her, she swam away quickly after a big headshake.

Killing time fishing off my dock with a live bluegill. I did not measure it, but I’m guessing 3 or 4 lbs.
