Heat wave of 50+ degrees here in Maine, along with torrential rain and 40-50 mph winds, but that didn’t stop me from throwing a few flies today. Managed to net one salmon and one brookie. 😝

New PB brown trout. I could see several brookies I was targeting and this beast came out of nowhere to hammer a purple and black wooly jig. So fun!!!

Did so well this morning I had to go back this afternoon, and found an even bigger brown!!! New PB brown for sure, and maybe of any species for me.

14 of these beautiful creatures to the net this morning. This is my favorite time of year for fly fishing here in Maine! Temperature goes down and almost everyone else stops fishing. lol

Two monster browns this morning. 😮. For those who didn’t know how to verify brown trout vs. salmon for sure, the last picture shows the vomerine teeth in a zig-zag row on the roof of the mouth, guaranteeing it’s a brown.

Landed a nice landlocked salmon that must’ve gotten out of the lake or stocked in previous years.

Had so much fun this morning I stopped and fished some more this afternoon. 3 more to the net…that last one was so fat and heavy! 😮
