Caroga Lake

That little lake I circled holds fish but they are tricky to find. Was a slow go until the skies opened up for a few and then the post-rain bite was on. The wind was way up so I used it to my advantage and let it push the yak along the edge of the Lilly pads, correcting with my paddle to keep it parallel to the shore. A 30-minute flurry of strikes on the spinner bait did the trick. A trailer hook is a must! 👊

Glad to be back on familiar waters after my Lake Murray trip last week. Big fish are on the move and looking to eat. Look for steep drop offs and throw a Bomber Fat Free Shad if you’ve got one. When the sun starts to set, hit ‘em with a Cane Walker or popper. Tight lines! 👊

Slug fest on Bishop Lake today (actually Caroga which is connected to Bishop). Fought the wind as much as the fish. 🤣 Side note. I ran into a couple of fellow FAs on the water who saw my earlier posts and decided to give the lake a go. Small world! 👍
