Crooked Lake

Got my paddling in today chasing a giant school all over the lake. Got most of them on a Sonar Minnow (Graph Shad) except for the lone guy who decided to hit the spinner bait. The Sonar was especially effective as you could throw it over them as they boiled the surface and let it sink through the water column. They were hitting it on almost every cast until I spooked them. I must have looked like an idiot from shore zig zagging around trying to keep up with them. 😆

Dropped the yak into two lakes today… started at Big Fish Lake and caught a few but had to bail early because it had basically become a toilet bowl with the jet skis and rec boats churning the lake, which is very small. Totally my fault for not checking to see if it was all-sports. Wound up at Crooked Lake, which has some very deep spots (60+), and found them using a sonar minnow. 👍

Made it over to Crooked Lake today! I was rusty and missed a few, including what had to be a PB Pike, but this lake has it all and is going on my list for next spring. Very deep at 74’ but has plenty of shallows and cover. The water was super clear, which made it tough. Had to be super stealth and make long casts. Tight lines!
