I got a crappie tattoo for mah birthday. I got the tattoo at Villain Arts Festival on the 9th, and then DAYS LATER, I put myself right on a school of em. And I'm just tickled that I managed to get a photo of them together. I guess I need to get one of a walleye now. Maybe I'll actually catch one. 🤔 (Do NOT ask me how I got the photo of my tattoo with the real crappie next to it.)

More gills! I have a friend who said he'd never been ice fishing, so I took him to my usual spot. Found the usual school of gills, and showed him the basics. We stayed warm, caught fish, had snacks/drinks... He said he had a great time and asked if he could keep the fish to cook for his uncle and I'm like "Hells yeah!" and chucked them outside into the "freezer." He caught like 10+, I caught a few but was mostly helping him. We saw a bass and a pike on patrol, but neither wanted to play. But still... not bad for my first time as a fishing "guide." 😁

First outing of the ice fishing season for me. Didn't feel like hunting much, just found a school of gills to harass. Couple crappie showed up to play, too! Good warmup, got a bit hot in my tent, tho. 😁🥵

A few days ago, I went to Minnesota Comic Con to run a photo booth for a few days with the actual throne from the TV show Vikings. (How I got there is a long story... But I am a photographer.) I heard that Jonathan Frakes, the actor who played William Riker on Star Trek: TNG would be there. I grew up watching Star Trek, it's still my favorite. So I took a break from my photo booth to talk to him. He was so super nice and I was incredibly honored. He noticed the fish hook clip in my hat and asked me if I liked to fish, etc. He said he likes fishing pickerel, trout and bass at home in Maine. I got to talk fishing with Jonathan effin Frakes. 🖖🤓
