I decided to explore a new section of Burnt Meadow Brook today. My hope was to catch some wild rainbows and brook trout, since there are brook trout further up in this creek and rainbows in West Brook, witch connects not far downstream. However, I highly doubt there were any trout in this section. It was very slow water and shallow as well. I decided to walk up the creek and see if I spooked any fish, and I saw about two fish total. That was until I reached the hole under the bridge. There was a massive school of suckers and chubs, and a couple bass, perch, and bluegill in the mix as well. They were very spooky, since the water was crystal clear, but I was able to get a few to bite. I broke off on a sucker and a creekchub when setting the hook, since I was only using 5x tippet. However, I was able to land 2 chubs. All of the bites came off the squirmy wormy in brown and red-pink. While most of the fish were small, there were a few big suckers, one probably pushing 18". While this wasnt what I was looking for, I'll gladly take it for exploring a new section of creek in the middle of winter.

Caught this nice 9 inch brook trout out of burnt meadow creek on a #6 brown wooly bugger. Started throwing a small size 18 or 20 black parachute, but it was too windy. Then put on an parachute midge with a tungsten walts worm underneath, with no luck. Then i tried a neon green pheasants tail, and still saw nothing. I got to the biggest pool of the day, and although I didn't have any smaller streamers, I knew I had to tie one on. Sure enough, that giant took it. It was the only one I saw all day, but im fine with that.

Just a wee little lad but my first catch on a whopper plopper! Hooked him in 3 spots. Needed the grabber to control his floppy body while I unhooked him.

Caught them pretty well last weekend. Able to put together a 19lb 5 bass limit. Everything was deep, and ate low, slow baits
