First Connecticut Lake Dam

Fly fishing Lake francis inlet. Water temp in the Lake 51°. Spent days trolling the connecticut lakes and lk francis for salmon with no luck. Everyone out had the same experience. These stockies hit caddis flies during a very limited hatch period.

Caught a nice salmon and a junior Brookie, nymphing the current of the connecticut river mouth as it dumps into lk francis. After days of water flow in the 5-600 rate, it finally dropped to 252 cfs so the fish could move around AND FEED. Both were caught on a gold bead scud worm fly trailing a frenchie. Water temp at 50°
