Recent Catches At Raritan River (South Branch)
Ryan Jones
Headed home for Easter last night and decided to get out on the water today in this beautiful 70° weather. The South Branch of the Raritan produced one nice brown trout, although I think it is one of the 20,000 stockers that Pennsylvania sent over. Even though this section is managed as a wild trout stream, and isn't stocked, a mile downstream they start stocking. I also missed a fish a few hours earlier in the same hole, although it could have been the same fish. There was a pair of American brook lampreys that I believe were spawning. This is a good sign that the stream has clean water. It was a very nice 4 hour session.

Here’s a nice slab from today. Again on the sulfur soft hackle.

It was warm but had a great day with Tim Flagler. He helped me dial in my euro game. This fly is the sulfur soft hackle that he just won with in the tie-off against Rosenbauer and Cheech.
