Didn’t fish very long this morning at all because of the heat. Managed to catch one small bass, 2 small saugeye, and a pretty nice crappie. Was shocked at the crappie and the saugeye eating a @berkleyfishing Flux Gill on the flipping stick. Water temps at Seneca was around 90 degrees which is the first time I can ever remember seeing that high! . . Another good day on the water. Got on an early morning topwater bite and caught around 8 pounds before 7:30 this morning. The bite quickly died out once that sun got up and the lake slicked off. It was a struggle the rest of the day as there was basically zero wind and high sun. My last bite was around 10:15 to push me closer to that 9.5 pound mark and I fished until around 2 trying to break 10 pounds for the second straight day and it just wasn’t happening. If you were to tell me I’d catch 20 pounds in 2 days by myself fishing a lot of water that I normally don’t fish and do it fishing a lot of new stuff, I would be excited about that! . . Man oh man did this feel good. I haven’t been fishing in nearly 3 weeks because I’ve been so busy and was rewarded with a decent one on my first cast. Fished for a couple of hours tonight and landed a couple decent ones and lost the biggest fish I’ve had hooked this year when it straightened my buzzbait hook out and it managed to spit in when it jumped. Overall a solid couple of hours on the water and I’m looking forward to a few more hours tomorrow! .
