Recent Catches At Lamoille River
Ryan Jones
After many failed outings since the florida trip, including a very expensive failed musky trip where multiple musky lures were lost, I finally got on some fish. With a high of 60°, I knew I had to miss my afternoon classes. Tried going to the Seymour River at first, but there were posted signs along the pulloff, so I made my way to the Brewster River. The day started off slow, kot getting any action until I reached the two largest holes of the day. Ended up landing 3 bows and 2 browns, along with loosing my biggest bow of the day (only 10") at the net. Most of the fish took a copper headed zebra midge with some peacock UV ice dub as a collar. I believe one fish took the quill perdigon that was on top as well. There were little black stoneflies still hatching everywhere. Its supposed to rain all week, but hopefully I can get out Saturday in NJ. I am bringing my kayak back up with me, so I will have unlocked a lot more spots to fish on Champlain, right when the smallmouth bite should be heating up.
