Got 4 on first time fishing in 2026 and got a couple good ones. Biggest was almost 22lbs biggest one I’ve ever gotten in January.

Managed a couple on a windy winter night on the James. Big one was 33lb 13oz.

All I caught was 4 small ones the first 10 minutes out then I couldn’t get another bite. Did catch a fishing rod while drifting it’s a Cat King, the reel I believe is shot but I think with a little TLC the rod is salvageable.

Missed a couple bi hook ups. One bit my live Crappie in half and the other I had hooked but not good it flipped and threw hook about 15minutes into fight. Did end up with these two. The smaller one I actually hooked in the dorsal fin.
