Happy new year! 🥳 first time on a saltwater charter and caught my first ever mahi mahi and my first ever saltwater fish! 🐠

hey say patience is key in fishing… They forgot to mention upper-body strength helps too. When the ocean decides to bless you, you don’t ask questions — you just smile and carry the proof back to the dock. 🎣💪

Went out and caught a mahi mahi today — absolute piss-missile of a fish, neon as hell. Landed it clean while you’re out here tangling lines, losing rigs, and telling everyone “the bite was slow” like that’s not code for you’re shit. Someone asked if it was lucky. I said rub my balls and watch me turn into a genie, because clearly miracles happen when competence shows up.

Dawn cracks and the water looks innocent, but I know better. I throw metal into the lake like a threat, not a prayer. The fish don’t get a speech, they get tested. Line tightens, rod bows, and something down there realizes the universe is mean and has hooks. I don’t apologize. I win. This isn’t therapy. This is domination with patience. Cold hands, worse intentions. I drag them up blinking and mad, all teeth and attitude, and remind them who owns the top of the food chain today. No mercy, no poetry—just pressure, leverage, and a grin that says try harder next time. I don’t fish for likes. I fish because the water owes me something and I’m here to collect.
