Headed back out to another tributary of the Little River, this time the West Branch right in Stowe. Since I forgot my waders at home, I dont want to fish any larger rivers, because all I have now are knee high waterproof socks. Landed 2 browns and a ton of brook trout, too many to count. Almost every brookie miniscule, however, they were theoughout any run that was was a foot deep. I was using my 10 ft euro rod, however, it was a bit windy, so I was using an indicator the whole day. There were tons of mayflies of many different species again, and fish were definitely looking up. There were multiple times where they would try and eat my bright orange indicator. In fact, the bigfest brook trout of the day tried to eat my indicator and got snagged in the stomach with the nymph on his way down. Since I have a mono rig on my euro rod, I couldnt cast a dry, but Im sure it would have been effective. Although I caught a good amount of fish, I was a bit dissapointed. I thought the stream would be larger here, as I was hoping to find some larger fish, but I guess I have to head further downstream for that. Its supposed to rain all of Saturday and part of Sunday, which could hopefully make for some good musky conditions. Wish me luck
