Florida gar

Caught a 9-10 lb Gar! I wasn’t prepared to catch him. I did not have a net. He was a beast. So I tried to get him to spit the hook and he eventually did. Still such a fun catch. I just wasn’t prepared to handle him this evening! You can see he fought like a tank. Best part is catching him on 10 LB Yo-Zuri Braided line—-on a Mini Original Rooster tail by Wordens! I couldn’t believe that he hit it. First ever Gar using a Rooster Tail. Caught on my Penn Fierce IV 2500. 👍🎣👌🌅

—-😁Caught this beautiful monster—on 8lb Trilene Mono line! 🙌 😳I went outside again this evening and it started pouring so—-I tried a few times in the rain and finally I seen something come to the surface and nip at my popper—-3 times I seen the circle of water around the popper but I didn’t know what it was. I popped a few more times and—on the 4th time he slammed it. Great fight. Underrated fish. Caught him using a ‘Ole Bass Popper—-my Penn Pursuit 2500 on—-My 6-12lb Matsuo Rod. I enjoy catching Florida Gar.🎣👍🙌👏
