Ended up going on a hike today and got a black nose dace. I have developed this technique (not sure if I’m the first ) but where I take 5lb nylon line for its thin diameter and its weight. I tie a fly on and do this back and forth motion using the weight of the line to cast the fly, I can cast it pretty far and it works surprisingly well.
