First fish on the new baitcaster. This is going to be quite the learning curve. Can I get away with running straight fluoro or should I throw some braid on there?

It’s kinda small but it’s the biggest fish I’ve ever caught because I’m new with this so yay

Casted on the other side of the weed bed, saw my line take off to the right and set the hook. He dove to the bottom of the weeds and sat there. Could not budge him so I went for a little swim and pulled him out of the weeds myself. Shoutout my speed stick for surviving this encounter.
