Bull trout

My first ever Bull! Went out on a one day mission to the Cariboo River with my buddy with the goal of catching a Bull. This was first cast at the pool and he put up a great fight. After about 4 minutes I was able to get this big guy to net. Didn’t get any measurements on him, as I’m usually more concerned about the picture and the release, but I would estimate this guy at around 28” and 7 lbs. Feel free to let me know what you think of that estimate. I asked a buddy who is very knowledgeable on fly fishing and Bull Trout, he agreed with my estimated measurements. My favourite catch in a long time, possibly ever.

Brought in a pretty nice bully today!

30.7" tip length, 28.35" fork length Bull trout. Potential future IGFA submission, and if approved it will be 1/2 times I plan to step up the benchmark for my all tackle length in 2026. I am not done.

Officially a 2× world record holder! A dream come true honestly. Now all I have to do is beat my own records this spring, because honestly, both those fish were a lot shorter than my actual personal bests. Still, this is 100% the biggest achievement in angling of my life so far. Tight lines, I have many more records in mind outside of bulls!!!!

It was a very good day spending time with the ones that I love... Big old fat trout.... It was a very pleasurable day....
