Got to spend my day off in the Delaware River and had an amazing day of fishing! I managed to land 2 snakeheads, 7 striped bass, 1 channel catfish, and 2 smallmouth bass. The second snakehead of the day bit my frog, which is my first fish on a frog in 2026!

An incredible day of fishing for snakeheads and stripers! Today I managed to land 6 snakehead, my most productive day yet. I also managed to land 7 striped bass, with two of them most likely being new personal bests! I also ran into two surprise species, a nice smallmouth and a little walleye. I took two of these snakeheads home for dinner and boy were they delicious. After getting home I had to perform some surgery on my thumb after realizing I had some left over jewelry from my pike bite on Sunday.

An unreal morning of fishing on the Delaware River! My only species of the day was my target, the Northern Snakehead, and I managed to catch three of them! Not only did I catch three, but I landed another personal best. After catching a near 12lb snakehead about a week ago, I thought I wouldn’t stumble across another of its caliber for some time, but I was wrong. Today’s Northern Snakehead weighed in at 13lbs and 34.5 inches long! I have been desperately wanting to get a fish mount lately, and decided that this fish would be my first. Hopefully in the near-ish future, this mount will be complete and I’ll be able to hang it on my wall! Today’s success also came with a few hiccups, including an urgent care trip to remove a treble hook from my fishing buddy’s hand and losing a personal best sized flathead catfish on artificial after a 10 minute fight on my medium light rod.

Another successful day of snakehead fishing! I managed to land a few nice fish on the baby whale, including this nice snakehead, a small walleye, and a few smallmouth bass.

New personal best! Today I went to a frequent summer snakehead spot to see if I could land one of the invasive dragons that swim below the surface. My first objective of the day was to throw some frogs on my kayak, and after making it to the spot that I usually find success, I was bummed to find zero vegetation. This made me lose all confidence in my frog, and 2 hours quickly passed with no bites. I headed down to the nearby creek and started throwing some swimbaits and hooked into a giant fish. This 11lb 12oz Northern Snakehead is my new largest by over a pound! After my success with the snakehead, I changed tactics and went to a much larger dam to target some flathead catfish. Unfortunately, after almost 4 hours, I could not hook into any.
