Matthew Maung At Oshawa Harbour
Nice day out on the harbour. No wind, no snow. Maybe 10” of ice. Saw a ton of perch and 2 bowfin. Caught more and larger perch than yesterday on Cook’s Bay.

Some cold rainbows for Christmas Eve. 6x, on a size 18 midge. Fished green for a few hours, nothing. Immediate action once I switched to hot pink. Also that water is very cold I recommend a towel for drying off your hands before putting them in your gloves.

More sardinos. Double nymph (only bit midge) under an indicator, 4x on a 5wt. So cold, fly fishing is becoming less attractive. I also found someone’s snagging rig in the shallows, attached to 50lb braid. Better not be y’all.

Can't say I've ever fished creeks this late in the year, but I've caught the bug.. which certainly helps with the winter blues.

First time fishing in awhile and was going for steelhead still no luck but landed these beautiful 2 rainbow’s including a new PB rainbow! Phone was dead so couldn’t take quality pics until I got home and decided to keep these for a nice meal 🎣

More tiny rainbow action today. 5wt, 4x. They didn’t like eggs or worms today, only nymphs. Also I caught this knife in the Oshawa creek (it’s natural habitat).

I’m back. Tiny rainbow on size 18 midge in black, 4x on my 5wt. Not the size I’m looking for. I’m gonna try to catch a nice one on jerkbaits or streamers this season. I’m sure they’ve seen enough eggs.
