Trent River

Looking at fishing content online will make you believe everyone else is out there miraculously catching big fish every trip. 😂 Reality? Most of the time, I’m driving thousands of kilometres, spending thousands of dollars on fishing trips, and getting absolutely skunked. Compared to how many times I actually go fishing, the number of trips where I catch anything worth bragging about is pretty damn low. 🤣 Drove 4.5 hours for this one. Yesterday I fished through absolutely insane winds for 6 hours, lost 5 rigs, snapped a $200 rod, donated almost half a spool of braid to the fish gods… and the universe rewarded me with a 7-inch brown bullhead. 😂 10/10 trip. Would absolutely do it again. 🎣

Hit like a truck. I was using a slip bobber rig with dead cut mackerel, casting upstream and letting the current drift the bait downstream along the banks.

A couple of days ago, I went there looking for big channel cats. I couldn’t find any big ones, but I caught a couple of juvenile channel cats, and this guy hit a drop-shot rig. Then I went back to the Trent River and caught two big channel cats.
