Got out early and caught 5 smallmouths in 2 hours of fishing. The only big one I hooked broke the 8 lb test line I was using. Fish were aggressive at dawn, but bite ended by 6:30.

Caught 4 smallmouths on a hour and half trip with a beautiful sunrise as an added benefit. Nothing big, but a wonderful day on the river.

Caught 2 smallies before my fishing trip got cut short by an unplanned swim when I tipped my kayak for the first time ever. Thank God the momentum took me into an eddy that was only mid thigh deep. Lost a rod and some tools but got safely back in kayak and to shore.
