Smallmouth bass

Finally get on the water after lunch time and get a little bit of smallmouth action.

Had to work for this one. Dragged the kayak through gravel just to float a few moments in what deep spots were left in the river. The water was crystal clear so I had to be super finesse with my light set up. A few twitches of my tiny fluke with my light set up next to a tree root ball pulled his 15 inch smallie out to eat. So fun!

The smallies were ROWDY! This guy almost thrashed away during his photo shoot. After dragging through miles of gravely shallow water we got the deep hole and it was worth it. I finessed this river smallie out of his hiding hole and he put up the good fight. We doubled up but I won this time 😜
